What’s in Turkey’s 10th Judicial Reform Package?

Judicial Reform Package No. 4 ("Fourth Judicial Package") Adopted

On July 8, 2021, the Turkish Grand National Assembly approved the “Law on Amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code and Certain Other Laws,” also known as the Fourth Judicial Package—comprising 27 articles and amending seven laws. Published in the Official Gazette on July 14, 2021, it introduced significant changes in administrative procedure, violence against women, compelling witnesses to appear, arrest and detention for listed offenses, judicial supervision, and summary trial procedures.
